I think personally there should be a balance..I want the best for my future children when growing up..i believe family values and morals are crucial to a childs raising..nature is built around balance right? i think when raising kids in the future parents need to be strict on the things the kids need to do. it will give them a good foundation platform for them when they grow up and go out into the real world. i guess i will define my way of what loose parenting, i love Art, so when it comes to creativity i feel a child should explore their creative side freely in a positive sense. but none the less i believe in being strict to kids but not to the extreme to the point of abuse.

Mine believe in being strict too. I guess it’s quite affective, but doen’t work with all kids.

Yeah, for some odd reason. Different families have ways of raising their kids, instead of raising them in an appropriate way as they should be brought up as they get through life. It don’t matter what race you are,…where some people would think like this….

“Black people raise kids this way.”
“Asian people raise their kids that way.”

Who cares what race you are? It should be based on how families raise their kids in society. It don’t discriminate, so why should any of us?

Very true! 🙂 Race shouldn’t matter when it comes to raising kids. I like the close sense of family value both Black and Asian have, so I think it won’t be complicated raising kids in a Black Asian family.

It would be nice to be in a Blasian relationship with someone who shares the same values. I would love that in a partner. Its hard to find that these days.

Hi Lily, you speak words of wisdom. I’ve come to notice that strictness really doesn’t work with all kids. imo, Parents need to learn to discipline based on a child’s individual personality.

I think that having a balance of both will greatly benefit both parents and children. I grew up in a very disciplined strict household as an adult now coming from that environment it has molded me into who I am today. Totally a good thing.I think it’s a good thing to
Teach valuable lessons through strict measures and loose. Being too loose can have children run all over you. Being too strict could indicate a rebellious attitude later in life. Balance is always the key.

Personally love is discipline and structure by showing clear examples of what’s right and wrong a child makes clear distiction on what they can and can’t do that’s love. Now being soft is ok but understand anything with to much sweetner does not taste good it may make something wroght ;). To answer the question though strict is better but understand what it means to be strict oppose to being soft. With correction and love it is all structured well

I’d say strick parenting is truly best Iif you want your child to learn right from wrong …Strict, but not mean type of strict though 🙁

Yes, moxie. Surely not the mean type. That’s for sure. Kids don’t tend to learn good from mean parents, they just learn to be mean.

My mother always gave me a scripture from the bible about the spare the rod quote. So yes, its considered to be strict in raising kids. Trust me that if you bring a child in this world and show them love and also discipline. They will thank you in the long run.

I’ve always wanted to adopt children from different countries that are less fortunate. They would appreciate the value of a good education. Raising them up would not be as hard because if I was poor and a loving family would wanna take the time to accept me. Then I would do all I could to learn and behave accordingly as a child. Some kids in the United States have it so easy that they feel life owe them. Nothing is free. It is earned. So therefore raising a child would take self discipline determination and dedication.
