Hmm, interesting topic… As a Christian, I don’t believe in sex before marriage.

I respect that, Lilyn09. What made you decide to follow that path?

I don’t think Christians should have sex before marriage either. My family is very conservative, and that’s what they’ve always taught us growing up.

Imlostinmidga, Whats your opinion on it? I’m curious to know from a guy’s perspective.

Though I believed in God since I can remember, I did whatever I wanted to do. When I grew up, I was told that Christians are not suppose to have sex before marriage. I never really understood why. I wanted to be like everyone else and have fun. My family is not conservative and probably very worldly. Although, they are Christian. I just felt even though I did the thing I wasn’t supposed to do. As I started to read the bible, I felt somewhat guilty about it. If I get married and I’m having sex already what else do I have to look forward to. Am I cheating on my future wife?

I wondered if a woman will love/trust a man more if he waits because as a man you proved to her that she is that special or that he is a man of good character.

Actually, the bible says it in Proverbs 5:15-20; I wish I read my bible when I was younger maybe I’d took a different course.

Well, I chose to follow that path because similar to what Moxie said, it’s what I’ve been taught growing up. Sex before marriage was totally out of the question, and I guess I just grew up with that foundation strong in my mind that I was going to wait.

I am a man saving myself for my future wife, and I would like a wife who has saved herself as well, so we can build our relationship on a strong Christian foundation.

@lilyn09, That’s interesting. I wonder how many parents teach their children growing up about sex and marriage when it comes to what to tell boys vs. what to tell girls.

Tyrellneon, I don’t know about boys but girls usually get a lot of talk about sex from our parents.

@sweetpinay09, why do I have a feeling that you are talking about yourself? …If so, sorry about that. Don’t let that weigh you down. Believe in yourself, and be more careful next time like you said. Don’t let that discourage you from meeting the perfect lifetime partner for you. God Bless.

Personally, not to offend anyone religious here…

I am not exempting the idea of sex before nor after marriage. It’s not difficult to find a plethora of other things to do with your partner before marriage…there will be times where the temptation is there and I don’t believe in fighting something natural as attraction/copulation.

I myself am not religious and I do have a sense of high spirituality, so…it’s okay with me if it is okay with the other party…just not right away you know?
