Thanks Mia and Lilyn09, I wonder if my experience is typical for Black Men and if both of your experience is typical for Asian Women? Learning about different cultures is very interesting to me.

Leaving the nest is surely something that takes some getting used to.

Hey Lily09. *Hi five* Same boat, lol. Did you ever feel like leaving the nest sooner?

I gotta say independence is nice, but so is family haha.

Cultural differences are interesting to me too. I’m curious if it’s the same with guys in your family as well within the Asian culture, or is it just women who leave the nest at a later time?

Hi Tyrellneon, in my experience, yes. Our culture of guys do this as well. Especially back home in Asia. Asian guys in the US tend to just “go with the flow” but not all. It’s not uncommon to see an Asian guy living with family until marriage too.

@Shiningbright144 – Yup! Same. My male cousin-in-law didn’t leave the family house til’ he was 31 and married.

Do Asian parents get mad if their child leaves too soon?

I look at being away from your hometown as a good thing. You can’t miss your family if you live in the same area as them

    Hi Mysterious001,
I think even if I lived in the same area as my family, I would still miss them if we were not in the same house.
